History

ViCyber history

The evolution of the ViCyber team, season by season.

How we evolved over time

Each season built on the experience of the previous one: more refined processes, better decisions and a steadily growing technical capacity.

2022-2023

Launching the team and entering FTC

ViCyber was founded at Tudor Vianu National College of Computer Science and entered FTC through its first qualification and invitational events.

The first season created the operational foundation of the team: department structure, internal workflows and the first real competitive experiences.

2023-2024

Consolidating the technical process

The second season marked a more mature collaboration between departments, with significant improvements in hardware design, software development and robot testing.

The team moved from experimentation to a structured cycle of design, build and validation, reflected in the quality of the technical solutions we implemented.

2024-2025

Expanding our activity and community presence

The 2024-2025 season combined competition participation with an extended outreach program: ViCyber Echoes workshops for younger students, presentations in high schools and team representation at conferences such as DefCamp and Future Talks.

The team proved it could manage both competitive work and community impact initiatives at the same time, strengthening its role in the Romanian education ecosystem.

2025-2026

Competitive recognition and stronger documentation

During the 2025-2026 season, ViCyber earned the Control Award at regionals, a result that highlighted the team’s progress in robot control, match consistency and the integration of its software and hardware systems.

Alongside the competitive result, the team delivered a more mature documentation package through the season’s technical notebook and portfolio, designed to present both the engineering process and the broader impact of the project.
