ViCyber is heading to the Canada Rockies Premier Event @ KDays
We are raising the money for Edmonton and keeping the budget, contact details, and campaign details in one place.
Our team
ViCyber is the robotics team of Tudor Vianu National College of Computer Science in Bucharest. Founded in 2022 with the support of Universitatea Copiilor, we compete in FIRST Tech Challenge to inspire young people in Romania toward STEAM careers.
For us, mistakes are not obstacles; they are fuel for innovation. Thanks to our founders, dozens of students discovered a passion for engineering, programming and marketing, and the foundation they built still shapes the team today.
We work to improve every part of the team, both competitive and educational, in order to fulfill the purpose of ViCyber: education, sustainability and enjoyment. We organize events such as “One Hour of Robotics”, introductory workshops for middle-school students, and we actively take part in events like Researchers’ Night and conferences such as DefCamp, where we represent the people who support our project.
How ViCyber evolved
See our team’s journey, from the first FTC season to the projects and initiatives we are developing today.

Structure and roles
Our team is structured around three main departments, each with clear roles and responsibilities.
We analyze game requirements, design mechanisms in CAD, build and test the robot, and optimize reliability for match conditions.
We write FTC code in Java, control subsystems in TeleOp, develop autonomous routines and test for precision and stability.
We document the engineering process, prepare the portfolio and engineering notebook, communicate with sponsors and the community, and promote FIRST values together with STEAM activities.
Outreach impact
Talks, workshops and conferences that we organized or attended in 2025.
We worked with children and introduced robotics through simple activities and teamwork.
Details
On October 13 and 14 we worked with the children from Teddybär Private School.
With the support of their teachers, we ran practical activities and introduced them to robotics.
Thank you for the energy, questions and imagination.
We organized two days of practical activities, and the children discovered robotics step by step.
Details
On October 22 and 23 we worked with a new group of children at Evrika Private School.
We spent two days surrounded by curiosity, practical activities and discovery.
The children showed us how quickly they learn when they work together.
We introduced FIRST Tech Challenge and our team, and showed what FIRST values look like in practice.
Details
On October 22 we gave a presentation at Matei Basarab National College.
We offered an introduction to robotics and explained the core values of FIRST.
Thank you to the students and teachers for the interest and engagement.
We showcased our robot and workflow, and connected robotics with cybersecurity.
Details
We joined DefCamp with a booth dedicated to the cybersecurity community.
We presented the FTC robot, its design and code, and the way we work as a team.
The conversations at the booth created new ideas and new bridges between robotics and cybersecurity.
We offered an introduction to robotics and FTC, with a focus on innovation and collaboration.
Details
On November 14 we gave a presentation at Marin Preda Theoretical High School.
We explained what FTC is and how a team-based robotics project comes together.
It was an interactive session, full of questions and enthusiasm.
We gave an English presentation about STEAM and FTC, and students from Turkey had the chance to drive the robot.
Details
On November 17 we hosted an event at CNITV for the Erasmus+ project.
We presented STEAM in English and explained how FTC works as an educational system.
We also ran a robot demo, and the guests had the opportunity to drive it themselves.
We organized a hands-on LEGO robot assembly activity where students worked under time pressure and made quick decisions.
Details
On December 4 we joined SciTech Evo Fest at CNITV.
We prepared a practical robot assembly activity with limited time and fast decisions.
We are glad we got to work with students who are passionate about technology and innovation.
We organized a conference about artificial intelligence, covering how it works, where it fails and how to use it responsibly.
Details
On December 18, 2025 we organized the “Future Talks” conference at CNITV.
The topic was artificial intelligence: how it works, where errors come from and how to use it responsibly.
Thank you to our guests and coordinating teachers for their support.
